Conrad is South Africa's one and only stand-up ventriloquist. He has appeared at major events such as The Smirnoff International Comedy Festival, the 5fm Heavyweight Comedy Jams and The SA Comedy Festival.

He trained at Cape Town’s College of Magic and is also an anthropologist which he obtained through UCT (B.SocSci (Hons)), with a masters degree in esoteric psychology, specializing in communications. Conrad has even worked as a facilitator for corporate self-help workshops. This psychological and humanities bent approach gives Koch a moving and honed connection into the wacky characters he creates on stage. Some of the characters include a Scottish tokoloshe, a vegetarian vulture, a feminist Sandton Kugel and a Cape Flats drag queen.. All of which play on Koch’s audience’s psyche in an extremely lively, and often provoking comedic encounter.

Along with Conrad's specialist humour come his specialist puppets. They have all been handcrafted by South Africa’s leading special effects designers, and, with his comic and psychological abilities, makes for one exciting time! Koch’s shows can last anything from five to fifty minutes, depending on the needs of the client. The show is clean and aimed towards a thinking adult audience, yet is flexible enough to be adapted or even rewritten for the situation – Koch can literally make anything talk. Koch has worked in many places including the UK, Australia, as well as in South Africa. He is a frequent guest at corporate functions and is constantly being rebooked for some of South Africa’s biggest entertainment events including the Heavyweight Comedy Jams, Night of 100 Stars, and Oppikoppi Music Festival.
