More on Darren Maule....
2006 was a big year for Darren as he played the role of Jack in the corporate
made-for-TV movie entitled FHM Sexiest Woman in the World
2006, which aired on M-Net.
The movie tells the story of a young, intrepid
reporter named Jack, who is charged with getting pictures
of Carla la Reservee, after she wins the annual FHM
100 Sexiest competition.
He only looked higher as he was cast as the lead role in the sitcom
FONT, which premiered on SABC3 on 11 October 2007.
Darren Maule's beginnings....
Almost
as soon as Darren left the technicon, he joined a
live daily soap drama for Radio Punt called “Seepbel”.
Finding himself doing one of the least off-beat
endeavours he would ever be involved with.
Darren
then became involved with the shifty world of stand-up
comedy as a comic, eMcee and a became part of a very successful comedy
duo mime act called “The House Boys”. Improvised
comedy followed soon after. Both in
which he is still actively involved with to this
day. Darren also gives comedy workshops to anyone
who will listen.
One of many
ground-breaking achievement from Darren is when he
became the voice of “Cassie Fenwick” (a real-time
live interactive animated character). After half a
decade
of Cassie doing MC work across the country, “Cassie”/Darren
made history by hosting the 1st and only live talk
show with
an animated character, “Cassie Live” on SABC 3.
“Cassie” has now been awarded the honour of
being added to the Trivial Pursuit board game
archives… seems like Darren will have to wait a bit
longer, although there is no bitterness, their
partnership toured worldwide, the highlights being
Prague, Czech Republic and New York City, twice!

Intermittently Darren has always been a working
actor, never one to remain idle (that damn Gemini
blood), he has always been involved with countrywide educational theatre and industrial theatre
productions.
Now Darren
has turned his attention back to television and
after a year of “Play TV” which received air play on SABC 3 (2 hours a day,
4 to 6 times a week, live) he is now involved in a
weekly character driven series soon to be on late
night SABC 3. He’s also talking about an alternative
talk show in an even later time-slot.
