His career began in 1978 when Pieter Toerien gave him the opportunity of taking over the leading role in the comedy Happy Birthday on condition that he was on in 48 hours.; His one-man play Defending the Caveman has run countrywide for the past nine years before he passed the baton on to Alan Committie.

Tim has had a diverse and distinguished career as actor, singer, dancer, director, writer and producer. Tim’s career began in 1978 when Pieter Toerien gave him the opportunity of taking over the leading role in the comedy, Happy Birthday, on condition that he was on in 48 hours. He was! Subsequently as one of the most sought after actors in South Africa Tim has proved himself as both a comedy and dramatic actor.

He has starred in The Unexpected Guest, The Real Thing, Pajama Tops, Who Goes Bare, Hello I’m 8, Two Into One, Doubles, Sextet, Not Now Darling, Uproar in the House, and Pale Natives. Musicals include Joseph, Snoopy, Tom Foolery, and Singing in the Rain. Tim directed Certified Male for Pieter Toerien, and was recently seen on stage in the revival of Doubles, which he also directed. In 2004 Tim wrote and starred in Breakfast with Dad. Tim and his wife Cathy also have a highly successful industrial and commercial production company. If this isn’t enough to keep him busy Tim is still out there ‘Defending the Caveman.

 “Defending the Caveman”, has been running throughout South Africa for eight years to sold out houses. It has crossed the divides of race, gender, age, culture and religion to become a South African icon, the only show to become one of the things you have to see if visiting the country, along with the Big Five, Cape Town and a gold mine.

After literally thousands of requests from companies to “come and do something for them”, Tim has developed a corporate show that incorporates the wisdom of “Caveman” and comedy, to answer the questions that your people in your company have about relationships today.
