About Farhan Esat

Farhan Esat made his stand-up comedy debut in 2012, professionally in 2014, and has become an established performer on the South African comedy circuit. He has performed at prestigious venues such as Parker’s Comedy & Jive, the Goliath Comedy Club, the Cape Town Comedy Club, Emperor’s Palace, the South African State Theatre and the Baxter Theatre.

Some of his career highlights to date include:

  • Opening act for Carl Joshua Ncube’s “Feel Good Zimbabwe” tour (2014)
  • Semi-finalist in the Montreux (Swiss) International Comedy Competition (2014 & 2015)
  • Opening act for Riaad Moosa's "Best of” shows in Lenasia (2015)
  • Top 5 "Best Newcomer of the Year" at the South Africa Comics Choice Awards (2015 & 2016)
  • Performed with Anne Kansiime to 4000 people at a sold-out Harare International Convention Centre (2016)
  • Featured on some of South Africa's biggest ensemble comedy shows including Kings & Queens of Comedy (3000 people at a sold-out Sandton Convention Centre) (2016)
  • Opening act for Riaad Moosa's new "Life Begins" show (2017)
  • Performed at the Clarens Comedy Festival (in partnership with Comedy Central) (2017)
  • Headlined the "Just for Laughs" stage at the Swaziland International Comedy Festival (2017)
  • Guest act for Tol Ass Mo’s “Tsek Sun, It’s Personal” shows in Johannesburg & Pretoria (2018)
  • Headlined Zimbabwe’s Shoko Festival comedy evening (2018)
  • Appeared on the season premiere of “Mzansi Comedy Nights” (Mzansi Magic, DSTV channel 161), which was filmed live at Taboo Night Club in Sandton (2018)
  • Conducted a whirlwind tour of Cape Town in December, doing 17 shows in 10 nights (2018)
  • Performed on The Dan Nicholl Show (SuperSport) (2019)
  • Featured on the all-star “Penny For A Laugh” charity comedy tour, which took place in Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg, performing to over 5000 people (2019)
  • Landed his first lead role in an international commercial for Nando’s (AMEA region) (2019)
